The Syrian Engineers for Reconstruction and Development Organization (SECD) continues to implement the project to support displaced persons and vulnerable families in host communities by rehabilitating their damaged homes in the villages of Baksreya, Hanboushiyah, and Armala in the Jisr al-Shughur countryside, from 01/07/2020 until 28/02/2021. This project aims to meet the shelter needs of 400 families, with approximately 2,082 beneficiaries including (1,158 displaced, 799 hosts, 125 returnees).
Restoration work has been completed on some homes in Baksreya and Hanboushiyah villages and they have been officially handed over, while work continues to complete the remaining targeted homes.
Restoration activities include but are not limited to: installation and maintenance of doors and windows, internal and external plastering, installation of water tanks, plumbing and electrical installations, and supplying homes with a solar energy system to be used for home lighting.
160 homes have been restored in Hanboushiyah village in addition to 118 homes in Baksreya village. Work is still ongoing to rehabilitate the 122 homes in Armala village.
The Syrian Engineers Organization adheres to COVID-19 prevention measures during all its activities. Additionally, the organization receives complaints through complaint boxes installed in the targeted villages and processes and responds to them accordingly.
